Energy Sensitivity

Energy Sensitivity

I’d almost forgotten what a migraine felt like. I’ve been able to avoid or halt them very effectively for the last few years, but yesterday one came on strong. The pain was a steady hammer beat in my left temple. My hands were freezing, and there was an odd taste in my mouth. Sounds felt like physical blows, and bright lights were knives.
But the strangest part is when I lose my ability to sense energies. It become so second nature, that I forget entirely that it’s there sometimes. Like suddenly not being able to smell anything. My gods went silent, my usual sense of other people and things was gone, replaced by a heavy feeling of silence and loss. I looked at Tarot cards and saw only pictures.
Temporarily losing your abilities gives you a great appreciation for them. It allows you to pick out what is that sense and what isn’t in much clearer detail. Part of learning how to sense energies is figuring out how they appear in your physical senses. Most of us lose the easy ability to simply perceive energy in childhood, and so it filters through our other senses at first. Energies might appear as colors, smells, emotions, tingles or buzzes. Or anything else, really.

Energy Field
They’re often subtle, so you might dismiss an unusual tickle as a random thing instead of a sensation of energy. A pulse of color might go unnoticed in the wave of cars passing. Tapping into those sensations and becoming aware of them is the first step to feeling energies. Then, you can begin to unpick which were actually random and which were your perception of energies.
I’m fond of using your own body as a study aid. It’s always with you, and becoming more aware of your body will help many other things in life. Feel your body. Be aware of it. What is tight? What is painful? What itches? What pulses? What can you relax? What places are harder to feel? What happens when you try to relax one place at a time? What happens when you breathe deeper? Slower? Faster?
When you can sense energy, then you can understand and know when you are sending it out or taking it in. Practice and play with this!

Earliest Memory of Magick

What is my first memory of feeling magick?  I remember grinding up colored chalk into powders when I was young. I would save them in jars, then scatter them outside in protection or blessing. It was my fairy dust, my benediction. I would gather stones, smooth and colored rocks from various places. Then, when theContinue Reading

I’ll admit that I’m starting out pretty basic here. Big topics reduced down to a few hundred words. And today is no exception! Because today I’m going to talk about water. More specifically, hydration. Do you think you drink enough water throughout the day? Many studies and people will tell you various details on whyContinue Reading

Movement

Hi everyone! Today I want to talk to you about the importance of movement. It seems like a pretty simple topic, but it’s hugely important! I see many of my friends and fellow healers performing great acts of spiritual and mental discipline. However, so many of them don’t move! Energy flows though the body. IfContinue Reading

Sweat

We’re having a bit of a heat wave here in Los Angeles. Normally the temperature is nice, even and warm, but the last few days have brought heat advisories and warnings. Temperatures are close to 100 degrees and the humidity is much higher than usual for our desert city. I bring this up because IContinue Reading

Early Experience of Healing

I remember being about nine or ten years old. My mom had a headache, and so she was lying down in a dark room. I came up and started playing with her hair and rubbing her scalp. I imagined that I was pulling out the pain through her hair, pulling it out of her andContinue Reading
